Just finished up Don's 2006 z06. 578rwhp, 524rwtq. Not bad for a small cam ls7.

Big power is pretty easy. The silver one JDP did made 590rwhp with CNC'd heads. This is stock port work heads making 578rwhp on a small cam. Baseline was 565rwhp when we got there on the old tune which was the one that ran 11.21@129. Hopefully it can squeak out some 130s now.

Awesome numbers. Amazing what streetable LS's can put out.
If there were an opportunity, I'd enjoy observing while you work your tuning magic. I think you've already said, but are you using HP tuner?
Worked with Accel and Fast but never OEM. Sounds like OEM has a lot more tables to deal with.

Yah, HP tuners.
Really nothing to look at when we do it. The only table we adjusted was a few tiny tweaks to the maf table and then just leaned the PE out until it was were we wanted. This was ~12.5 AFR. Plenty safe.

I have an Accel Gen 7. Have spent a lot of time with the Accel guru. We were able to bring my gas mileage from 18 MPG to 25 by adjusting the VE first, then on cruise changing the AFR to 16.8 and bumping up the timing. Just 3s table to make the changes. I drove and Ross made the adjustments. The Guru told us that once the VE was correct we could lean it out until it stumbled. I chose 16.8 as an arbitrary number, does not stumble, so it looks like we could lean some more. Now these numbers are just in about 12 cells between 1400 and 3000 RPM. Most of the cruise is between 1400 and 2300 RPMs. I make around trip to Idaho with the mileage being 350 miles. Filled up right before getting on the freeway and on the return filled up again as to get a good count. My speedo is exactly the same as my GPS so I believe the milage is correct. I did not drive over 80 and tried to hold it at 77 MPH. The milage recorded after calculating the trip was 25 MPH. Now that may not sound good to you LS guys, but brand new my car only did 20 MPG. So with 60 more cubes and lot of cam. etc. I think that is great.
Anyway the more I learn about the Accel gen 7 the more I like it....

We would set it up to be leaner at part throttle on the factory ecu but I like the way it runs at 14.7 so I'm not going to bother.

But with the gen 1 406 motor I am getting better mileage than when the car was new with the 350. Its just so cool with what is on the market today with the tuners for the OBD2s and the stand alones for the OBD1s. For instance, I am running a dual sync dist that allows me to run sequential fueling, which I do.

Actually if we had more time we would get rid of the dip at 2700rpm and tip in richness but we were out of dyno time.

For kicks and giggles. Here is my dyno graph from my bowl of rice. I made 602 at 36psi. I love comparing graphs between V8's and imports. Always interesting.

How did you cool your car down at that place? put my 911TT on their dyno no air at all into my intercoolers disappointing #s for sure I should have been about 530- 550
