I have had some projects over the last few years. I have done them because it helps me relieve stress, and I like to keep my sons involved so we can spend quality time together. My 16 year old asked me a couple of months ago if he could have a project of his own, that I would help him with. I was excited for him to take the initiative! We found a mechanically sound 1990 IROC Z with 88k. I had Vince check it out ( Don't know what I would do with out Vince), it had a few minor issues like tires and needed a new exhaust. It was not trashed or hacked up like most of these cars. It had been sitting in a guys barn for 7 years. We did A LOT of cleaning, installed a new stainless exhaust, new front struts, new rear brakes, some sub-frame connectors. Flushed the radiator, changed the oil, fixed the steering wheel airbag etc. Basically made it a safe driver. The car needs paint and a few very minor dings fixed, but that will wait because my son wants to save and do these things himself. I'm proud that he has taken ownership of this project. Plan on posting some pics as the restoration progresses.

That car looks awesome. Gives me flash backs! Get a Strut tower brace on there too, to help the SFC's. It'll help in that car!
Auto trans though? Let me know if you need help w/a swap! ;D
Car looks GREAT in the pics!

My son ( Nathan) wanted to get his car painted for his Christmas Present. We were able to get a decent paint job for a pretty good deal. Not a show car quality job ( remember he wants to drive this car to high school and park it there) He's very happy with the result, and yes the car does look better. He has been bitten by the bug! I told him "time to get a job" so he can fund this project. He's excited to do so. Pics coming!

That may change in the future ( we all know how it goes). I'm letting him decide what he wants, he realizes that he needs to earn the money first!

Here is the question no one dares to ask.........Do you let him drive your cars? ?? No, he only gets to clean them!! ha ha He isn't insured on them. I use a collectors policy that won't allow it. That's the reason he wanted his own car to work on. ;D Some pics from last few weeks.................... More to come as the weather improves !

Car looks sweet! Love the PBR rear disks and the factory dual cat exhaust. That is a sweet package.
