I read a couple of different Corvette mags, and saw their small add in the back and decided to go to their site and check them out. www.dragvette.com/products.htmThe idea of a safety loop for the half shafts on a vette sounds really good to me. I am going to be putting in a safety loop at the back of the TH400 and at the front of the 9" I am putting in mine, and if I had the IRS back there I would be putting the loops in place there.

That is a good and an informative link. The prices are plenty fancy but the topic and the link serves as a good reminder. As a tech inspector I am sure you were checking for drive shaft loops all last year. An open drive shaft (C4s and earlier) has to have a drive line loop if it runs 13.99 and quicker on slicks, except 11.49 and slower cars on street tires. The awkward wording complements of NHRA. FYI a D.O.T. approved drag radial is a "street tire". Half shaft loops are required (per NHRA) on C3s. There are suspension mods that can be made to add an upper control arm to avoid the requirement. Our local track is now IHRA so the 2009 NHRA rules may not strictly apply. Also enforcement is often different from one track to another.
