I think you should paint the block and heads Hot Pink! One of two things would happen, either people would talk and laugh, and well then you should show them not to mess with the car with the hot pink engine, or they would understand from the get go that if you had the balls to paint your junk pink, there must be a reason

Looks nice, glad you bit the bullet and pulled it for a going over ! Cant wait to see it back on the road, good luck buddy ! I pulled it because you said I needed to get the cam piece out and to check the bearings, and the only way to do that is pull the engine. I decided to let the machine shop check and replace the cam bearings. After checking the cam bearings, we checked the others, and the rings and everything else, everything was crap. Decided to boil the block replace the bearings and rings, polished the crank, and now we will have a refreshed motor ready to take on the snowman and the Rossman. I want to thank you again for the dead-straight-on advice, I thought just a cam and bearing replacement, but reality said differently, complete rebuild.....

Now that's where it's AT! Reminds me of my buddies '69 Firebird back when we were in High School. In the mid '80's, a pink engine meant serious business! EDIT: THen again, so did a mullet! ;D ;D ;D

Just spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with Crower. They strongly suggested that the spring rates from the AFR springs were too stong and that with that amount of spring rate that there could be problems with the lifters not pumping up properly at higher RPMS. I have ordered the Crower Springs recommended for my new cam. I also asked them if the AFR springs could break a cam and they said no way!! So new springs matched to the cam and lifters. All should be good in performance town.....(just got a brand new motor I wasn't planing on buying, bye, bye Xmas)

Any updates? I started my cam last night. So far it is easy. My friend is done with his cam, just waiting on his heads to get back from Cali. I hope to be running by this weekend if all goes well.

Motor is put together, we retarded the cam, valves are adjusted, everything is ready to go back in the car. I have a few more things I want to correct under the hood, wire clean up put everything back in looms.
