Does anyone have a recommended tire place in town? Preferably in South Salt Lake County, but I am willing to travel to get quality work. I want the car treated with care and dont want the wheels scratched, or the rocker panels damaged when lifting, etc.
I also suspect I need a balance and alignment performed since the car has a bit of a shake that starts at about 85. I plan to stay with the factory alignment specs since 99% of my driving is on the local streets and canyon roads. The track use is extremely rare (1 or 2 WOW events a year).
I have read in the corvette forums that it is wise to bring jack spacers (hockey pucks) to avoid contact with the lift arms and rocker panels on the C6Z. I don't want the rocker panels cracked or the paint under the panels scratched.

Greg at Discount Tire in Lindon. He's the manager and ALWAYS takes very good car of my cars. I drive from SLC (work) or Roy (home) just to make sure the work is done right by him.

For an alignment take it to Vince.
Tires I take it to Matson Auto and Marine on 123rd south and 1400W. It maybe a bit of a drive (closer then Lindon) but it they are good people, awesome prices, and treat you well. I've got 3 sets of tires from them this year so far and haven't had any issues.

Thanks for the suggestions. kryosnick - I hope all 3 sets of tires weren't for your Vette . Curious - what tires are you using on the Z? I'm leaning toward the Michelin PS2 ZPs. My driving is 99% on the local and canyon roads. I would describe my driving as mildly aggressive. I make it to WOW about once a year. We just found out my wife is expecting twins so the Vette will probably collect more dust than normal next summer.

One set was for the Z, but those are my MT drag radial that I only swap on for the track.
Currently still using the factory GYs. They are almost dead. I'll probably just put the general exclaims on, which is what my friend is going to do. They are cheap, handle decent, and have a great wear rating. For 3-4 wows a year they will be more then enough. The other option would I consider is the NT05s but they are ~$1200 for tires that last 12-14k compared to $780 for tires that last 25k with the generals. For racing I'll just swap to different wheels.

I got 18k out of the stock GYs but they are running below the wear bars. I just ordered the Michelins from Discount in Lindon. I was leaning toward the NT05s until I got a flat recently. It was really nice\conventient to have a run flat and drive a few blocks to the nearest gas station.
Now I plan on finding a big open parking lot to finish off the GYs ;D

After driving on non-rfs and RFs I rather have a better quiter nicer tire for the 99.99% of the time you don't have a flat, and use AAA to tow the car when I do get one.

I have 14k on my GY's and the rears are at the wear bars. I'm leaning towards putting on the Michelins next summer as well. Let us know how you like them and post a pic if you can. I'd love to see how they look compared to the GY's.
Are you going with stock sizes? I've read some people are putting 345 rears on instead of the stock 325.

345s can cause some warning lights to pop up unless you do larger fronts also.
Runflats suck IMO. Try driving on a non-RF and you will be amazed at the difference. The car drives so much nicer.
The good years do nice rolling burnouts at 80-100mph now. I don't think they will last long at this rate.

I'm going with the stock sizes. I read many reports that the stock Michelins look narrower than the GYs, but they look the same to me (check out this pic: forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z06-discussion/2393082-325-30-19-michelin-ps2-zp-released-3.html ). Maybe the tread design gives the illusion of a slightly smaller tire. My GYs probably should have been replaced at 15k. They have felt very unpredictable for at least the last 3k. If I spent more time at the track I would get dedicated tires like kyrosnick suggests. For my driving needs I figure I just need a high performance street tire. I came very close to getting the NT05s (a lot of good reviews and much cheaper). If I would have purchased tires before having the flat I probably would have picked the NT05s. Between my flat experience and almost unanimous positive reviews of the Michelins I decided on the Michelin ZPs. I know I could get a non-RF and a repair kit and compressor, but I don't want the hastle. The forums have so much information about every tire that it is exhausting to ready through. The new GYs sound like they might be a good tire, but the price is comparable to the Michelins and I decided to go with a proven tire. I ordered the tires yesterday, but probably won't get them mounted for a couple weeks due to travel. I will try to post some pics after I get them mounted. You are welcome to look at the tires in person if interested.

For an alignment take it to Vince. Who / where is Vince? I've had great experiences with Russ out on 19th & Redwood, but he's pretty far out of my way.
