As you know I have been conversing with Eli the Gen7 Guru at Accel, and lately we have been doing the setup on the TCC controls/lockup. As you know I have had problems with Torque Converters and having to replace them. Also when you blow a converter it usually wipes out the trans. That is what happened the last time. Replaced the torque converter, and rebuilt the transmission because the convertor filled the transmission full of crap. Well, it seems that Brent Savage at the corvette specialists ie TAS GOODYEAR set it up incorrectly, and you guessed it, was the most likely reason of the problems. If the torque converter does not lock up properly it causes the transmission to create a lot of heat which starts to wipe out the trans, and the converter. I asked him several times about how the converter was supposed to lock up, and he would just imply that I was to stupid to understand. Once again I want to thank the SOB for all of his knowledge and for lying to me telling me he was a certified Accel installer. I could have purchased a new ZR-1 for all of the money he stole from me because he doesn't know his "A S S from a hole in the ground" , or, he is a certified thief, or both. I can't warn you people enough to stay away from these thiefs who pray on unknowing victims. I drive all the way to Lehi now to see Vince, because he knows what he is doing, and warrantees his work, unlike "Brain Dead Brent" at TAS. After three years of tearing out everything that Brent/TAS touched, my car is running the best it ever has.
Let me tell about another great deal. My car just never ran right and Brent Savage told me that unless I put a wide band on, it would never run right, so after being bugged to purchase one. and many trips to the shop (where it would sit for days, weeks) I finally relented. He installed the wide band. Now the wide band comes with a controller, which has lights on the front that tell you what the wide band is doing, and if it is operating properly. The stupid SOB hid the controller up underneath the dash where one could not even get to it with out pulling the breadbox, dash pad and hush panels. (he could have done this intentionally to create a need for me to go back to him when my car stopped running correctly) I now have the controller mounted where I can see it. When the lights tell me it is time to replace the wide band, I will know it, and replace it.
I hate to admit it but these people screwed me so bad, they make you think they are your friend, while all the time they have thier hand in your back pocket. This one time Mormon missionary turned thief, is a prime example of buyer beware. Just because the sign in front say's Corvette Specialists does not make it so.
