Well as I start to talk about taking the Vert to have the smog done and renew the plates it starts to run like dog crap. Then missing on a cylinder... No Codes and the intermittened code for the EGR had all but gone away.... Decided that since it has been forever since it got new plugs, I would change them. I pulled the plugs out on the drivers side and they looked fine. Got late on me tonight. I am going to change the passenger side plugs after work tomorrow, and keep driving the Suburban. After I change them, I plan on working to get rid of that Tick from the lifter that is bleeding down. I plan on starting by changing the rocker arms over to Roller Rockers (thanks to Warship) I am thinking a set of nice 1.6 Roller Rockers. I will see if it is ready after that and a new O2 Sensor. Once smogged I am going to work on building that old block that came out of the coupe as cash will allow so I can have a new bottom end, and take the heads and intake off what is now in the Vert and have a rebuild engine in the Vert. Well unless any of you have a used set of stock heads I could pick up cheap. Also if there is a stock C4 oil pan I would be interested. Just thinking of seeing what I could do with the stock car on the roads to give it a little more umph and be more reliable.

I hate this car. I swear it is cursed. It started running like crap and felt like I had a plug wire off and running real rich. I decided it was time to Chang plugs and so now it has 8 new plugs and wires are all on. Now it still runs like crap and real rich. No codes either. I have no idea where to even go from here. Anyone want to armchair a solution. Runs so bad I do not think it will make it down to Vince's shop.

In all seriousness, I suspect your wiring and sensors need to be tested one by one.

If it was a sensor wouldn't it throw a code. And if the harness had an issue I would also think it would set a code. I know the plugs are good and so are the wires. It feels like it is not running on all cylinders. I guess I will pull the valve covers and change out the rockets and see if there is a problem in there. If not maybe it needs the trip over the point of the mountain.

Well I finally gave, and took it down to Vince. I had it running on 8 Cylinders but rough and by the time I got it from Sandy down to his shop I would say 4 Cylinders tops. I left it down there with him and said "Tell me what is wrong, I give" After him looking it over.... I should have listened to him from the word go. He told me before I even took it down to check the fuel pressure regulator. When he checked it, he was right. The diaphram was torn and it was sucking fuel into the intake. I ran him down the fuel rail off my coupe since I am not going to use it on that build, and he is going to replace the entire fuel rail. That rail I ran him down has a better set of injectors. Then I got to thinking since he is going to have to take off half the intake, why not have him replace the whole intake, and throw on my roller rockers. I called him today and called him off.... Told him I will bring down the intake, roller rockers, and he already has a new O2 sensor, gaskets, and the fuel rail. By the time he is done, I should have a great running car. Now I say to myself if I am going to pull part of the intake, this is a perfect time to put that cool intake I have on it... and before doing so lets clean it up. Much larger passages through the intake Might as well spray it red and have it match the body color And then I started to polish a Plenum that will need to be worked on a little to make it opened up for the runners, but that will not take too long (I Hope). The runners are going to be polished, the Plenum will be polished and Black Painted, and the intake itself will be red. Then one he has put it all together for me, and says it is tuned and ready, I can come pick it up. I will get it smoged, and the new sticker on the plate, and start cleaning up the wiring under the hood. Little by little this one is cleaning up. Next project after that is to finalize the stereo install, and have tunes. After that will be to finish cleaning up the interior, and wiring in there. Hopefully after that it will be back to the coupe!

I thought that "Big" intake was going to go onto your drag car; the coupe? The 'Vert will look sexy under hood now!

It was but I decided to put an 8-71 blower and Endrle fuel fuel injection. Thus might as well put this on the Vert

I need to do a little work to the plenum, and do some more polish work. I am going to have you powder coat the intake, and do some work on the runners later. Just have to get it running first.
