We picked up a CNC machine and we're now making car parts or whatever else looks fun Anything needed in the world of Corvettes? We can make most anything out of most anything. Engraving can be done also. Here's a short video of the machine doing some work. twitpic.com/5pcmrhIt's turning a one piece brake/clutch reservoir for my bowl of rice. Not finished yet, but this gives you an idea. When we get time we'll be making a billet aluminum valve cover for my rice. twitpic.com/5iuylvwww.facebook.com/FattyMachine

Very Cool. As I get closer on the Coupe I know there are a few things that I am going to have you do.
Really am looking forward to a set of custom one off aluminum valve covers, and as I start to set up the accessories on the front, I have really been thinking of how to lay it out with a ton of Billet that I can polish when you are done machining it.

That is right down our alley. My only word of warning is be prepared that billet aluminum is expensive. That chunk I show underneath my valve cover was $400.

You have to pay for anything custom. And machine time is not cheap either. There are a few little things that I will want and I am sure we will be getting together.
On the valve covers, nice thing is I can have the shape anything I can surface and put into Mastercam so I can make them work around items such as a blower crap, and brake boosters and stuff. They will be able to clear my rockers, and stud girdles, and can me made to fit the car. A one off set, and for something like that, I know I am going to have to pay.
I used to work for DRP Mold (www.drpmold.com). I am very familliar with the cost of machining, and if I need something really special, cutter wise, I also understand the cost of the cutters, and all.
Is your machine just 3 axis? Before I design I want to make sure I know what I am looking at.

Yes, just a 3 axis.

I assume you did that with your CNC as well ? What is the time frame to set up/cut that vs say CNC plasma cutter ? I understand for most of the items you are doing, the plasma would not do the job, just wondering. Looks good as always, when is Adam gonna print up some cards and go pro ?

That was actually cutout by a water jet. Adam did the design. He's already legit setup as a LLC.
