Is it wrong to go off roading in a z06? Would corvette people classify it as car abuse? Not saying I know anyone who did this, but it looks like a lot of fun to go offroading in a 600+hp z06.

It is a car.. and can be fixed or replaced.. I say do it and post a video of it ;D Alot of "Corvette People" claim tracking your car, or the unforgiveable sin of letting rain touch it would say those are abuse to..

Went up Big Cottonwood Canyon here in SLC and had a nice dinner at Silverfork Lodge with my lady. Because of some idiots there was a huge accident at the mouth of the canyon completely closing down the road out. Police said it would be 3 hours before it was opened again. Only option was to blast up the canyon and rally over guardsmans pass which is a dirt road over the top of the mountain that goes into Park City. I'm glad I had my APSIS fender guards on the car. Atleast the views are pretty if you ignore the huge drop off and cliff on one side. GMC Terrain making the pass for the lead. I didn't win the race but I made it home. Now it needs a good washing and will be all good.

You call that 'off roading'?? That's a freakin' numbered STATE HIGHWAY where I live now!! When I was in college a bud of mine had an '84 'Vette. We were in a fraternity and behind the house was a big mud bog. All the red-neckin' "brothers" used to mud bog their trucks there. One night, all drunk an argument ensued about what was better; the rednecks' trucks...or the '84 Vette. Having something to prove, my bud with the '84 took his vette and with the digital tack showing 7000 RPM, he ran the whole mud bog in both directions. Car seemed unfazed by it. THAT, IMO is "offroading". I guess that it's also redneckin' too. Glad your car made it through unfazed though!

Looks like fun! 5 years ago I was cruising up Hobble Creek canyon in my '80 and a mudslide had covered about 30 ft of the road not too far up the canyon. I really wanted to do my canyon cruise, so I went for it, made it, and enjoyed the Sunday afternoon ride Guess I'll have to dig up the pics so I can post them now...

unreal, I thought about you as I was driving to Heber & back via Guardsman Pass yesterday (in my Tacoma, though). Then I thought, "Oh yeah, my picture" (see previous post for story) Thinking about swapping my Indy5s for BFG M/Ts...
