Anybody in SLC know of any good, close by machine shops, I can not seem to find a whole lot of them around here? The only one in SLC that I've been able to find that does automotive work has been Love Machine Co...anyone ever use them? My other option is Kleggs down in Orem but their prices were ridiculous compared to Love's. Any advice, options? Thanks, Brandon

I am planing on taking my race motor for my Coupe to:
Strasburg Machine 468 N 1200 W Lindon, UT 84042-1125
Phone:(801) 785-2753
Keep in mind that you get what you pay for and I trust the quality of someone that builds dragsters and races them, and they came highly recommended to me by "The Snowman!"

Fastlane in Orem.
Depends on what you want done. I wouldn't let anyone in Utah touch my motor. When I do a motor it is getting shipped out of state.

Are they using LS based engines in top fuel drag cars and AMLS? Do they have any proven history building LS based motors? Do they have the deck plates, fixtures, and tools for a LS motor?
I'm going to go with a proven shop that does LS stuff all day long. Shops likes HKE, ERL, RED, LME, VA speed, Texas Speed, RPM, LPE, Livernois. These places do LS stuff all day long and have a proven track record of building high HP LS blocks. Places like RED and ERL developed the sleeving system for LSs and are the only shops I would trust to resleeve a block.

Karl at Jensen's in Ogden. He builds everything from 3000hp mud boggers, my motors (import and domestic. I would also lay money the dude has had his hands on one or two, I'm sure the # is much higher, LS motors.) to the local 8 second Supra motor. The shop was mostly domestic when we started going to him 20 years ago, but they've expanded into imports too. www.jensenautoservice.com If you are that worried about a deck plate. We can make one. We made one for the 4g63 that he borrows all the time.
