Well,it appears as though I hurt the old motor beyond cost effective repair.Since the forum has been rather slow,I will add some details of my continued saga to produce an 8sec streetable,full interior C5 vette. Old engine came out today(with a nice assist from my boy,Thanks) ! Cyl #7 got the worst of it,#1 shows a little as well,all cyl show lean out signs.Need to insp pumps,wiring,relays and regulator before new engine hits the dyno.

New LSX block will be here Monday.Plan is to send crank,rods and new block down to LME where they will be assembling a killer 427 lsx max effort pkg for me. Then,depending on what Trick flow says about my heads,I may add 305cc(yes,that big) MAST CNC ported LSX heads to the pkg. Goal is approx 1200RWHP at less than 20psi and NO nitrous,then see what this thing will do.Will keep you all posted,wish me luck,cant wait to hit the track again ! Must be some kinda disease,just cant leave this thing alone !

I guess you must have pulled the heads before to see the damage. Thats why you pulled the engine out instead of lowering it out?

Yep,hoping just heads,but saw dr side pistons and knew I was in trouble.I will have to pull the cradle to install it,no biggie. Good to hear from you,hope all is well !

I'm guessing between this and the transmission you can do it blind-folded in less than 3 hours ;D ;D.

Well,no real update other than turbo is back. Precision fixed it all up,looks like new again. New heads should be done next week. Block is at LME,probably about 2 weeks there,parts already on hand. Should have it back on the road about the time the track closes again,my luck anyway.
