Hey--you have not got that beast back together yet???.. Why the new intake, long runners, I guess you are looking to make more torque. I have been recuperating from a triple A rupture, then a kidney removal 1st of Dec so I have not been around much..Vince I will make it up as soon as I replace the power steering pump. Just waiting for the weather to warm up a little...See you soon..

Sorry to hear of all your health troubles,I hope you are feeling better ! As for the vette, lets see.I am storing my dads car in my garage as they have moved back east,SO,the vette has been outside and immobile(as well as TOO cold to work on)I have spent the last several months chasing parts/welding cutting, fitting, cutting again you know. Its been a LONG road and I have had to make some hard decisions about what my goals are as well as how to get the car there on a limited budget. Thats why so long, but,I HAVE made progress as noted,it just doesnt look like it. Lets see,Let me go through where we are now.As of Dec,here is what I had done Little update. Been a bit of a stretch as we had a busy holiday week and trying to get everything cleaned up and ready for some out of town visitors. I sent off the exh housings to be Jet Hot coated while I was waiting for some stainless O2 bungs as well as some 1/8 stainless bungs for pressure sensors(trying to get an accurate idea on what the backpressure looks like with this setup) Housings came back finally, sent the pass side mockup assy over to the welder to have the WG/dump tube welded and its back, fits great ! Here is a pic of the whole setup finally(well minus the intercooler) bolted on and ready to build support brackets. Pass side turbo setup. The tube feeding the wastegate has a tighter cut to it,not as smooth a transition but we were limited by space.Who needs low boost anyway !

I also made some new stainless fuel rail supports as I milled the pads on the intake to clear wide body injectors. Now waiting on some new billet mounting brackets to reposition the alternator and power steering pump assy. Thinking its probably time to pull the engine and stuff the new one, this wonderful summer weather isnt gonna hold out forever ! Here is a pic of the old C5 bracket ! Waited a month, intercooler was on backorder from before xmas, finally showed up END of Jan ! Small update, hopefully a prelude to good things soon ! Intercooler FINALLY arrived ! Ordered it nearly a month ago, showed in stock until I ordered and paid, then immed showed backorder status. Whats new ? So,it finally showed and in the meantime,I picked up my injectors as well. So,the intercooler goes to welder for 4" outlet to intake,as well as bungs for pressure sensor and IAT .Anyway, here is the new cooler, pre mod.

Also ordered a set of Moran Billet Atomizers,160lbs injectors.Hoping to max these out !!! Well, see 80% or so duty cycle anyway ! So,another update. I had Mike modify the intercooler for me,we changed to a 4" outlet and added several different bungs for pressure/temp sensors to verify function/restriction.His welding was great as always. Pulled the vette in the garage, pulled the FE off, removed the impact bar(temporarily)to facilitate easy access to install and properly secure/fit the IC/condenser and radiator assy.Looks like I will have plenty of room,I will be trimming/angling the lower part of the impact bar to allow full airflow to the coolers.More on that later.I need to remove the entire front harness, remove selected wires(mostly the engine management wiring, then rewrap and route the remaining harness for my lights/fans/electrical. Then, clean up the frame/inner fenders, touch up whatever paint as needed and move forward with engine install.Anyway, here are a few mockup pics of the coolers in progress. This was approx MID Feb,timewise.

March 2,update.Overdue for an update.Lets see.Pulled the car out of the garage finally so I have room to work around it.pulled the front end off, wiring harness, bumper, pretty much everything remotely in the way. Here is where I started. Stock engine harness,PCM and TAC module removed. Steam cleaned it all off,cut the battery mount bracket off(battery has been in the rear for years, finally had a chance to clean it up. Fusebox will be mounted flat against the RF inner fender facing the pass side cylinder head to allow for more room. Lets see,I welded in sleeves in the framerails to route the wiring/trans cooler lines inside the frame, should cut down on heat damage as well as clean up the engine bay.Got the brackets for the intercooler fit and welded(when its all done the bumper reinf bar will be welded back on,it was RIGHT in the way of everything.
