I figure if I post here, I'll sucker Highpockets into my DSM world
To begin with . . . 2 POS's to make one fast POS. I got the maroon car for free. It's pretty stripped already (which is what I want). The lighter the better, less HP to break parts. This is the doner car, a 1995 Eclipse.
Here's my 1995 Eagle Talon (Project "What was I thinking").
The point? To run 11's or quicker on about 6 or 7k. I'm kinda picky about stuff though, so I can see myself going over a bit.
Dirty engine bay.
All cleaned up. The wiring harness from the black car had to be moved over. Here's a shot with some of the harness moved.
Well, here goes some of my budget. The motor I planned on using from the black car has crank walked. Here's a picture at 0.
Here she is at .045.
I ordered some black carpet from MotorSouth Carpet and it showed up a week or so ago. Looks pretty good (I haven't taken pictures yet). We haven't tried putting it in yet. We wanted to get the door jams painted first. She'll be getting sprayed flat black when we paint her.
She'll also be wingless and sideskirt-less. Here's a picture of hatch holes getting filled in. There is still a lot of sanding/filling to do.
Here's a picture of my RS65 I just picked up (it's actually my old one from my '97 Talon. It looks small compared to the GT42's we've had! Oh, and there's the AEM wide band I picked up awhile ago.
Here's the motor back from the machine shop. I use Jensen Auto Service and have for about 15 years now. It’s a 6 bolt running 2g Nippon Racing pistons on 1g rods, ARP rod bolts and ARP main studs. We'll see how those pistons like 30 psi
Still need to sand and paint.
