Is anyone here a member of the Corvette Club of Utah? I can't imagine that every meeting is like an AA meeting. Other than the meeting formalities are the members friendly and social? I'm thinking of joining but their website kind of looks like it a group of older (at least older than me) couples with newer corvettes.

CCOU has regular meets and a lot of cruises/b-day dinners/x-mas parties, etc. There are all age groups of people and vettes in the club. It seems well organized and a good place to meet folks! Their fee's go to their events (which is a pretty long list), etc. In other words, I don't want them to look at Utah Vettes as competition or make people feel like they need to choose between the two. I started this board because I couldn't find a forum or place to chat on CCOU and thought it would be fun

Oh I'm not trying to choose between here and there, I'm just trying to figure out if I want to be part of that also. You've helped a lot by letting me know they have all ages and a variety of vettes. I think I'll try to become members of both. My fathers who i got the corvette from is wanting me to become a member of a club associated with the NCCC since he was a governor in one many years ago. Hope to meet up with some of you one night. CCOU has regular meets and a lot of cruises/b-day dinners/x-mas parties, etc. There are all age groups of people and vettes in the club. Hello. Another Vette lover added I have been vette-less for a number of years. Got rid of my stingray 10+yrs ago. Have been in love with the C5's & finally got one yesterday. This forum looked like a good place to hang with other Vette freaks/fanatics. So..... there goes the neighborhood

My first Vette was a 1956 that I raced in CA at the Half Moon Bay dragstrip in 1962. I didn't get the next one till the first half of this decade. I only had that one (a C5) for a few months. Since then, I've had for a few months at a time a couple of C5s and C6s. I work with a local dealership on car financing but they keep selling the cars out from under me. Finally, last winter, I bought a C5 Z06 and told the dealership that they couldn't sell this one. 3 months later, I took it to a tire shop for alignment, and they wrapped it around a tree during a test drive. Their insurance settled with me by giving me enough to repair the car, but I used the money to pick up another C5 Z06 about a month ago. This one is a 2004 and has 27k miles on it, but it was vandalized by a gang down in CA. Among other things, they left their gang initials carved into the paint job in multiple places. They also dumped a gallon of house paint into the interior after they broke the windshield and the door glass. I've almost cleaned up all of the interior, and now I'm ready to begin repainting the car. Can't decide what color to paint it. I'm thinking of the new green pearl that comes on Lamborghinis.
So, if you see a silver Z06 driving around with "TVR" etched into the paint in multiple places, that has to be me.

Welcome to the boards. If you need anything feel free to post up, and feel free to join in our conversations, and multiple posts going on.
If your into Drag Racing we will be out at Rocky Mountain Raceway Friday night (The 29th) for Street Series Drags, and after that a few might stay around for the midnight drags.

Welcome. Actually, I'm not unhappy. The car would have cost twice as much if it hadn't been vandalized. For racing purposes, nothing important was damaged. The rest can easily be fixed. BTW, "TVR" stand for "Toonerville Rifa". They are a well known hispanic gang in the LA area. You can read about them in Wikipedia, and they have their own website. One of the cities in their turf is Tujunga, which is where I bought the car. Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone
