I know some of you race Regularly, some of you are just off and on racers, and some of you just drive yours on the streets or a cruise here and there. Just wondered what all you check before you go to the track. For some reason I had a little time to think this weekend about it and I seem to have a mental checklist that drives me nuts if I do not check off. I used to have it on a clipboard and before every race I would check all kinds of things. I would replace all safety wire (We used to be required to have all kinds of stuff held with safety wire as well.)
Just wondering if anyone on here does a pre race check before they go to the track or actually does one at the track. I know my car is a street car right now, but when I get to my winter project I am hoping to get to, I plan on doing a ton of things to my car, and want to get another prerace checklist. I will publish mine, but would love to discuss this with other people, and compare what all we check on our different cars.

I try to remember to check my oil. I burn a quart every race or two. I checked my oil 80% through the cruise, yesterday, and it was down a quart then. It was full when I left home. Since the cruise, I took another cruise, solo, to check out the new Legacy Highway. Daily drivers like ours need little "pre-race checks" Our slow times take little toll on our cars and we pretty much keep them up for their daily use. Every now and then, I confirm my tire pressures. Other than that, for me, I load my track gear and go. You can never check too much, but for me, not much is needed.

I usually put the car up on the hoist and go over it for leaks,loose hose clamps(twin turbos have lots of them!) check all the fluids,lug nuts for torque( I have this tire/wheel fetish thing)suspension for loose components then it gets put on the trailer to run. It gets driven fairly regularly by my wife who will be the first to tell me if there is anything wrong or different about the car.Like the third gear rubber it gets now on low boost,hell I cant turn it down any farther,thanks alot Chuck !
