Anyone heard of this torque tube? (is it factory) It has a sticker on it that says - Uni-cast, Uni-matrix Manufactured by Unidrive. Yes, we're still new to Vettes I did a Google search, but didn't come up with much.

All C5/C6s are built this way.Basically alum tube solidly connects engine/bellhousing to rear mount trans/diff assy. think of it as the "spine" of your corvette if you will. Inside it is a splined "driveshaft" which connects the clutch(stick) or flexplate(auto) to the trans/converter. High horse stick cars or high mile cars will occasionaly tear out a coupler(rubber cushion)inside the torque tube.Hope that helps,if you want some pics,I will be happy to post.

I know what it is I was asking if this "brand" was aftermarket or stock. I should have said we're new to aftermarket parts on a Vette, not to the concept in general

Sorry,I am an idiot.Should have read what you were asking about completely before I replied.I know there is a carbon fibre tube avail,as well as alum driveshaft coupler bushings,I am going to look into the tube you asked about as I have no info on it either. Oh,and thanks for not ripping into me,I certainly meant NO disrespect !
