If it has a seperate fuel injector for cold start up I would say it's stuck open.

Sounds like it has a fuel injector hanging open or bleeding off.If its consuming that much fuel it should have some codes ,CE light on ? Tech site shows no TSBs on fuel consumtion or injector issues and I cant remember last time we did anything with regards to fuel controls on ANY suby, they are usually VERY trouble free. How is he coming up with the "gallon used at startup" figure do you know ? Is the car fouling plugs, blowing lots of black smoke or fuel fouling the oil ? With that bad of consumption,I would fear for the condition of the rings/cylinder walls from a fuel wash issue. Let me know, thanks !

I agree. A gallon used during start up is a tremendous amount. Just that alone, would cause other serious issues to follow.

Ya there is not lights on telling us any tech problems but when we drive some where we check the fuel gadge and the stop the car and get out go do what ever then we get back in and start it and its down noticably ill see if I can get some pics tonight of how much fuel its using. Usually we are using the car at night so I never can tell to easily if the smoke is black or not I will also check this tonight. Sorry still without a computer so it takes me a while to write back.

ok this is from my brother. We went out for the night and didnt see any black smoke or any thing. "k well. first off no lights are on as far as engine lights or anything. i never see any smoke or hear anything bad. it just seems like if i filled up and drove to the store for example. for the drive there the tank is still ''full'' because it was not a long drive by any means. but i go into the store. come out. turn on the car and it drops. i go home. go to leave again. and i'm already down to 3/4 of a tank. to me that seems odd. but maybe thats just me?" Oh and store is maybe 1mile away from his house.
