What would be interesting is a driver swap/rerun.From the video, like you said,it looks like the GTO has you pretty much the whole way.And NO,it doesnt make sense ! Thank you.. Now you see why I am so frustrated with this whole ordeal.. It is not me just being crazy and making up things.. I SHOULD BEAT HIS CAR.. I have raced for years, I am confident in my racing abilities, Drove a low 11 second car all last year at the track, and my camaro for years.. I know im not a pro driver, but I can handle my own.. The 1/4 mile times I was running were constant all day, even with this run.. It wasn't like my car was up and down all day on times.. I was hitting almost the same times between runs.. This type of thing is what makes me not happy with my car and the way it performs. What could possibly be my bottle neck? Why is my car not performing like it should? Beating the cars it should? That is the golden question at this point.. I should of never took it to the track.. I was just fine and dandy with it before I raced it.. but since I raced it I have to figure out what is going on with it.. It has consumed me and is bugging the hell out of me.. I should of just kept it off the track, but now its too late and when I do the math it just doesn't add up.. which is why im here posting my q's.. Hope you all understand, can't believe how something so stupid can frustrate me so bad! I will go crazy until I figure it out.

I also understand wishing you hadn't taken it to the track. If I hadn't, I'd be fat, dumb, and happy driving a high 16 second Crossfire. As determined as you are, you will get to the bottom of the problem. I haven't seen the video. Maybe I'll be able when you return my computer.

I was out at a customers, sorry I missed you.. Your computer is really old. I will do what I can for you to get it cleaned up but it will be hard to make it run the way you would like.
It is a Celeron 300 Mhz with 48 meg of ram with windows 98. They stopped support on 98 many years ago and there is only so much I can do to make it secure. As it is being cleaned up I am going to look through my back room for a used tower that is faster than yours. If I can find something better I will just give it to you and swap your files from your machine to the newer one.
I am afraid no matter how hard I try I just wont be able to get this machine where it needs to be. I will keep you updated.

I was at wendover yesterday, so I didn't have a 60' and MPH, but I was trying to watch my dash pretty close when I crossed the line to get an idea of my MPH.. I would say about 105-108 mph. With that trap speed, I hate to say it, but you're not putting down 420+ hp at the wheels. It's even worsened by the fact that you were using yrou speedo, which reads higher at the finish that a real sime slip would. If your speedo said 105-108, then a time slip of that same pass woudl read roughly 103-106 due to the tracks method of measuring trap. A car that weighs what your car does (~3800 lbs) and traps in the low 100's is putting out ABOUT 400 chp, I think it's down on power, or not producing the power that you're seeing on the dyno, when you're at the track for some reason. The vid was helpful, in that to ME, it looked like some good driving, good shifting and a decent launch, (for streeet tires) as you were claiming. Plus the 13.3/~105 ratio is pretty good, indicating decent launch (and good driving). HP is down for some reason. Try putting the car on the dyno again, and doing a drag strip simulation run, starting at 0 mph, 1st gear and pulling all the way through 4th gear. See what the results are.

I put it on the dyno and it was 419 HP.. pretty close.., Not sure what else to do. However my car just started freaking out.. " service stability system " pops up on my screen.. I hit okay, and it just comes back.. I turned off my car, unplugged the battery, hooked it back up, drove for 15 minutes then it came back on. No idea what the hell is going on. What does it mean by SERVICE STABILITY SYSTEM? the car drives just fine.. hooked it up to my scan tool and it came back with no codes.. That error is difficult because it gives me no direction of what to do except take it to the dealer.. the car drives just fine but that screen wont go away.. any ideas?

My idea is for you to take it to someone to find out what is wrong with it, and no matter how hard it is not to hop it up, I have seen this car, just drive it and enjoy it, and when you want to pound on something do it to your camaro, or buy a C4 Vette and join the crowd. I know that is not a help, but that is a nice ass car you got there. Lot nicer than what I would take out and run. I saw what happens when you pound on a stock vehicle.

lol im always up late.. it is peaceful and quiet.. my time to relax. except I can't relax, stupid stability system error is making me upset. lol.
yeah I don't want it to be my race car.. if there is some potental with my car I just want to maximize it is all.. it is VERY fun and clean, no doubt.. I just think 470-500 WHP will make it a solid 12 sec car and more than fast enough for me, and hopefully reliable too.. I am gonig to do all the BMR anti wheel hop stuff this winter, with drag radials and hopefully it saves my rear end from the dreaded wheel hop..

LOL I hear you. I am just stuck here at work or trust me I would be fast asleep in my bed snuggling with the wife.
I can understand that. I have the same sickness and you do. We always want just a little more out of our cars.

I have a new priority.. Fixing my wheel hop and this SERVICE STABILITY SYSTEM message. Vince, Can you fix this? Do you know what it is? I hooked up my auto scanner and it said no codes.. I have no check engine light, im sure its stored in the ABS computer and I can't access it. I have spun some tires lately at the track, so maybe I ruined some type of a wheel sensor? I HATE PROBLEMS.. if I hear a creek or anything I will rip the dash apart to fix it. As soon as I see a problem with my cars I have to fix it, just the way I am.. so now I don't care about making it faster, I need to fix my suspension system now.. I am sure its pretty universal between vettes and v's.. what can I do to track it down besides taking it to the caddy dealer and getting screwed over?

My Opinion, let Vince take a look at it, but that is only because I do not know any other mechanic out here.

it hasn't done it today at all.. would it still store whatever caused it in the computer, or would it have to be showing the error on the screen for you to be able to tell what it is?
