I have to admit, you have my rusty old cogs turning. Do you know someone that can do such welding on aluminum? I can. It won't be "show" quality, but it will meet the functional criteria. Wow about the head ports. They must be big'ns! My idiot professor from tech school would hate them! "No low end tq!" -he'd say. He was such a moron.

well it was no mild 305 every thing in and out of that motor was reworked. all ports valves heads it took a lot of work but the numbers are about right. an 86 camaro and a 95 z dont differ in weight too much and that car could take a z in the 1/4 any day. the zs have an lt1 with 300hp so my 305 was puttin out about that and a little more tq than a stock lt1. it was no one part it was the sum of all the parts together. and yes it was a crane, it was years ago. like i said the motor took 3 years and the build went on for the 10+ years i had the car. crane/ comp my bad but i did remember 3702 part # and compucam, i think the comp in compucam was wat got me. and yes now that you put 2020 that was the cam.but it did pull past 4500 rpm.

I you are talking about those heads you brought up to my place, the ports are huge, 1206 at least, maybe larger. They were 1/4" taller than the 1205,s we used on my intake Yes. And how to get the Crossfire manifold to bolt up to them at least temporarily so I can get rid of my oil burner.

A couple, but as long as it took to port the one I'm using, I'd rather not port another after it was welded. I've had people that wanted me to port theirs for them and I've turned them down. That's too much work to do again.
What is highjacking a thread? How would one go about doing that?
