Going to be doing a clutch in 2 weeks or so. New clutch shipped out today. I want to be able to launch at 4500 without issues. I'll need to find an alignment tool and probably get some extra hands to help handle the drivetrain. Fun times ahead.

Ordered a remote bleeder and SS clutch line. I need to get an alignment tool and I'm trying to find some wire thermal stuff to wrap some wires/lines in when I take the headers out.
Need to pick up tranny/rear end fluid. Vince?

Amsoil ATF for tranny and something for the rear end? I'll have to swing down there and grab some. Do you think your spline tool is long enough for a dual disc? I assume yes since you have a dual.

Was going to wait till next Saturday so I could race Wed but with the weather looking crappy I"ll start tomorrow. If I knew the weather was going to be bad I would have done it this weekend. I'll get it up on stands tomorrow and the headers/exhaust/fluids all off. From there I can pull the shocks and start undoing the rear stuff. I got some new bilstein shocks to put in at the same time.

We pulled my trans over the week-end, the torque (TPI) converter wipe out the input splines. They are opening up the trans right now and we will see what going on in there. $1000 for a precison 3 clutch, $200 to get the TPI rebuilt, and psbly another $1,000 to clean up the 700r. Still cheaper than your clutch Vince...No, no, just the price of the clutch....

Not true. The textrillia dual is only $1250 brand new. Now if Vince ever stepped up to the RPS billet carbon 3 disc that is $3500.

Automatic transmission center in Ogden is rebuilding my torque converter $200, and we still do not know what and if any damage was done to the trans. As soon a they open it up they will give me a call.

If I step up to the carbon/carbon I will probably just put an auto in it(probably should anyway) Carbon clutches seem to be incredibly poor mannered on the street,my Tex twin besides being noisy is pretty street friendly. Compromise on this car seems to bite me in the ass every time,I suppose I should quit riding the fence with it.

This one is good to 850 hp: 6 speed auto built from a 4l80e Transmission technology leader develops the world’s first 6-speed automatic transmission capable of handling up to 850 horsepower for GM applications Using the latest developments in drivetrain technology, TCI® has recently developed an innovative automatic transmission for Pro Touring, street and all-out race vehicles. Designed for GM SBC, BBC and LS applications, the 4L80E-based TCI® 6x Six-Speed Automatic Transmission is a fully programmable transmission that gives you six forward gears (2.97, 2.23, 1.57, 1.18, 1.00, 0.75) for quicker acceleration and increased fuel economy at cruising speeds and is capable of handling up to 850 horsepower. When used with the required TCI® Transmission Control Unit for shift point programming and the optional TCI® Paddle Shifter or bump switch set-up for manual mode gear selection, this automatic transmission gives GM powered vehicles the most functional and modern drivetrain combination on the market. This innovative transmission design is also available in a GM performance drivetrain package #271600P that includes the TCI® 6x Six-Speed Transmission, transmission control unit, paddle shifter, wiring harness, transmission cooler and dipstick. To ensure durability, TCI® engineers run each transmission across a computer-controlled transmission dyno to assure proper line pressures and top notch transmission performance. Proof of this triple testing process is included with each transmission, shipped in the form of individual serialized spec sheets containing test scores. These versatile transmissions from TCI® feature a compact design, allowing them to work in a variety of performance GM applications. In addition, each TCI® transmission utilizes the patented HDT Coating™ for cooler operating temperatures and improved drivetrain efficiency. RPM tranny has done plenty of 1000hp+ 4L80E swaps in vettes. Finding a good auto to deal with the power isn't a problem. They are costly though.

The interesting thing about this one though is it is a 6 speed, with the controller built in, use a precision converter with the 3 clutch pack and it will be fast. Precision claims 2 tenths with this converter.
