Oh,here is a pic of the oil cooler adapter next to the Turbo.Gonna be fun routing the lines around the exhaust housing ! Another view,shows better how it all fits,routes.

Nice. My new belt tensioner isn't here yet. I'm so sad. Yeah,my heart is breaking for you Nick ! Ordered my GZ vacuum pump pullies and got a messge in to Fran at RPM for a new cam,this car is gonna ROLL when I am done ! Now if the dang converter would show up,its killing me !

Jordan ordered me my cam. Since my intake is broke I'll be down until the new cam arrives. Put the stock TB on today. Should be a fun month for everyone!

Two pieces are fiberglassed together. It split apart and caused an air leak.

That would be the airbridge,silly man ! Looks kinda like a CF brake duct,awful thin isnt it ?

I come from the honda world where we would call that an intake. Ohh well. Airbridge cracked. It will be replaced with a molded plastic one so this issue won't happen again. Hopefully can be back on the road by labor day.

Yeah the commemorative ones do,special order you know. So,on to the next phase.Got the car back in the shop,finished tear down and began prep for the 4L80 trans install. Let e post a few pics and all you rough framers throw in your two cents here. We have essentially a 4x4(the new 4L80) trying to be stuffed into a 1x2(the old trans tunnel) hole,or perhaps a 427 in a GEO metro would be a better description. Cuz when I got the two out on the ground here is what I see.

Another view. Side by side and oh yeah,gotta stuff the trans blanket in there too as well as some cooler lines and a transmission wiring harness ! Some measurements,I knew the 80 was big but holy crap,hows that thing gonna fit in there ? Here is the six speed And the 80

First test fit(did this about ten times today)Almost got the top half in the tunnel,kinda. Had to trim some of the tunnel plate support bracket away to clear the bellhousing.Of course,I am going to have to trim (shorten) the tunnel plate as this trans is two inches longer than the MN12 that I pulled out.Also had to adjust brake lines,evap lines,fuel lines,wiring harness and e-brake cable but that was all the minor stuff !

By the end of the day,I was tired,hot and dirty as well as covered in dirt,grinding dust and sweat but alas,it DOES fit ! I fear,however that that was the easy part.Still have trans cooler,stuff engine,reinstall everything,align car and set up base tunes but I think I am over the hump and headed in the right direction.Off to bed,more progress pics to come,hope its not too boring for ya all ! Good night !
