I am just tossing the bolts in a pile (They are going to be degreased like everything else) and the parts appear to be all over the garage. Once I get to this weekend, all the parts will be organized. The wife walks out and askes "You do know where all these parts go back on right" My answer "You mean I gotta put it back together too!"
I am just going to put back what it has to have to run, and plan on takeing some of the weight off. I think I will be ok. Any parts left over are the ones that the Engineers just put in as extra right!

What are you going to do for heads? If new/better ones, what are you going to do w/those? They'd be a nice (weight removing) addition to my company car (the Jeep).

For now those will have to do, unless this deal comes through for a set of 18 Deg heads. If not the search will continue.
As for any and all parts I am not going to use after I am done, I plan on selling them to offset some of what I am buying, or to buy even more stuff for it.

10-4. If you do end up selling those heads, let me know.
Is it 18* heads...or nothing?

No not really. Just something I could trade for right now. I need something that is capible of some amazing flow. There are a couple of things in the works, but with the slowdown right now the budget is really tight on the build, and the plans are not. Somehow I will do what I want, even if it means I do not race till middle of the year, or even miss a season, so it is the way I want it. There is a lot to be said for doing it right the first time.

You certainly have dynamited that engine. You have removed much more than I would have, just to get it out of there. I probably would have left the radiator in there, too unless I had plans for it. Not that there is anything wrong with how you're doing it. Just different ways of doing things. While not necessary to remove the engine, having the hood off sure helps with the picture taking. In the second picture of the last post, what is the green item in the center bottom of the pic?
A word to the wise. Less than half the trans fluid is in the trans pan. If you are going to pull the trans with the engine, you can save a lot of mess by plugging the slip yoke back into the trans before tilting it. A slip yoke, only, would be easiest to deal with if you can beg, borrow, or steal one. Even if the ears for the u joint are broken off it still works as a plug. BTW, it is the same yoke as used on a TH350 trans. Otherwise you can put the drive shaft back into the trans and secure it to the trans and the caps to the rear u joint.
Also, to save mess, I would remove the knock sensor from the right block drain hole and the drain plug from the left.
Just a couple of thoughts in case they hadn't occurred to you. ;D

The green thing you are refering to is my drain pan.
And the idea of taking the knock sensor out had not occured to me, so I will do that. Also the plugging of the trans had occured to me. I am thinking of just buying one of those plastic ones. They are really cheap since I do not have a spare, and my driveshaft needs to come out before I load it. Mostly the reason all the parts are coming out, is I want to clean in some areas, and also want to see what is not needed and clean up some of the wiring, and all. I plan on making it look nice under there, not just replace the broken.

They are really cheap since I do not have a spare, and my driveshaft needs to come out before I load it. The knock sensor screws into the right side block drain hole. There is one on the left side too, with a pipe plug in it. You will have to pull both to completely (?) drain the block. I'm not familiar with a plastic slip yoke. I'm not sure why you are loading the car, but you can use the car's slip yoke attached to the rest of the drive shaft, slid into the back of the trans and dragging on the floor, while pulling the engine and trans out. For loading, you can just wire the rear of the drive shaft up under the car. Will the "C" beam be out for the "loading". Probably, or there wouldn't be any need to remove the drive shaft. If so do you have plan to support the rear of the engine and the trans? I mention that, just in case.

I told you that is just a high powered muffler bearing! Honest.
And the reason I am loading it, is I am going to take it down to Vinces shop to actually lift it out. Too heavy to do by hand. Even with two people ;D

I used to rent a cherry picker when I needed it. Finally, I bought one for the next swap. It has never been used.

LOL that is the way it would have been for me. Plus I want the chance to look under it, and do some planing, and then I am going to take him to lunch and discuss the plan I hope. Once I have a plan it is going to be gather parts, planing for the build in detail, and doing all the cleaning, and detailing and all, to make ready for the stuff to go back in. I have been told that there is wheel that will hold 3 big guinea pigs instead of the one I have not that just has one mouse running around the wheel to power it. Works great with titaniaum Kanooter Valves, and special High Speed Muffler Bearings with the special Lithum grease.

Today I did not work on it at all. I should be able to have it out soon, but have still got the bottom end to do. Once I get a few more things done, I will take some pictures, and post them up. Then once I get started on the projects, I will show pics and projects of what I am working on.

Well today right before I went to head home for lunch, I walked into our DP's office and told him I would see him monday and that I was taking the afternoon off. He asked my plans and I told him I was thinking of turning up some tunes, drinking some coldones, and thinking about tearing some more of my car apart. Now that I have finished lunch I am really considering heading out to the garage, maybe dropping the exhaust, maybe just draining the oil, and drinking some cold ones while it drips....
Is watching the oil drip for a couple of hours, while you enjoy the tunes, and enjoy the nice afternoon weather considered working on your car?
