Well here is the update for today: Well I got out there today, and got a ton more done. Thanks to a warship (Curtis) up the street who helped me with the exhaust (It was one piece from were it bolted to the manifolds, to the back exhaust tips) I now have the exhaust sitting up on some boxes out of the way. I have the bottom end close, and have the heads off. Tomorrow I plan on pulling the started, and doing one last check for wires, and loading it on the trailer. Once I get it loaded, it is going down to Highpockets shop for the rest of the removal, and then the final teardown will begin. Once out, I plan on cleaning my whole underhood area. I am going to do some serious detail work, and also plan on sitting down and deciding how far I am going to go, and what I want to do, and make my shoping list. Once I decide what has to be new, I will pull that off the list, and anything I can get used I will put a looking for thread on here. Here are some pictures from today: As you can see it is not in too bad a shape. Should be able to use the block, and heads if I want. Does not look like it needs more than just a little hot tank time, and typical machine work! All the walls look good, and just cleaning them up will work. There is no ridge at all that I can feel so I think I will be good with a Hone unless I Choose to open it up more!

There is no ridge at all that I can feel so I think I will be good with a Hone unless I Choose to open it up more! The ability to reuse the heads and block were a given, to me, all along... probably the crank too. At the worst, the rods are still good cores. Even without a ridge, I can't imagine that the bores shouldn't be bored. Check for taper and out of round. Maybe yours isn't as 100% stock as you've been saying. Where are your pre cats? For someone criticizing others for understating their mods, you may be as bad as some of the others.

Well first off I will adress what you said Jim.... If you look at the very right side of the pic at the top you can see one of the two of them. They are both on there. As for how today went, I took 3 pictures and have a question on one. Is this the stock starter? When Warship and his buddy were down and helped me put it up on the trailer, the question was posed... This does not look like a stock chevrolet starter. Let me answer my own question.... I just looked up a Corvette Starter on E-Bay and you know mine is stock I would say. It is now on the trailer and ready for the trip down to Vinces on Saturday.

Besides, that front Y pipe looks to me like it's been messed with. This does not look like a stock chevrolet starter. Let me answer my own question.... I just looked up a Corvette Starter on E-Bay and you know mine is stock I would say. In about 1987 or '88, GM switched to a Japanese starter. It is a lot smaller than the Delco boat anchor, like mine. I'm not familiar with the appearance, but it is smaller and lighter than what I know. I'm guessing that is what you have there.

Now you know I would never allow my car to be out in the snow! Tony I still want the chance to come and check out your ride.... Maybe after I get the engine out next weekend we could hook up. I just love the C2's and the best ones after the split window (Don't ask but there is a very long story there) are the ones with the top down!

As to all that wonder why this thread will now die..... Guess! What is there to argue? The extra pix weren't necessary, but thanks. I didn't see the pre-cats in the first set of pix, like I said. All you had to say was: Well first off I will adress what you said Jim.... If you look at the very right side of the pic at the top you can see one of the two of them. They are both on there. Like I said, I didn't see them. You are there and I'm not. I wasn't calling you a liar. You saying the pre-cats are there is more than plenty for me. I can't believe you building a trailer queen. Heck your not even done and it on the trailer. It was a trailer queen, 100% stock before tear down, for trips to RMR.

Text deleted to not be argumentitive. As to all that wonder why this thread will now die..... Guess!Umm, let me guess . . . Because Crossfire84 rides your butt on everything you do? Tachout, please don't stop posting to this thread. It is helpful for other member who haven't gone this deep into their own cars. Perhaps it will make them feel a little more comfortable when making their own decision to rip into the car.

Don't stop posting pictures of your project just because I saw an opportunity to rib you back on a subject you had given so many others a hard time over. iZabell, I don't ride tachout's butt. I thought we were pretty good friends. He has ribbed many of us over our "near stock" cars, and I thought I had a opportunity for "turnabout". As it turned out it backfired on me, because even though I couldn't see them the cats were there all along.
